Multiple dates throughout the season

This is a half day walk through the forests around Tourmaline Center. We will teach you methods for aligning your energy + movement with the energy of the forest. This awareness practice can open opportunity for seeing more wildlife, noticing things you have not seen before and imposing less on the environment.

Japanese medicine has acknowledged forest bathing “as a cornerstone of preventative health care and healing.” It is called Shinrin-yoku. This excerpt is from the Shinrin-yoku website:

We have always known this intuitively. But in the past several decades there have been many scientific studies that are demonstrating the mechanisms behind the healing effects of simply being in wild and natural areas. (some of this research is available here). For example, many trees give off organic compounds that support our “NK” (natural killer) cells that are part of our immune system's way of fighting cancer.
